Pregnancy Massage Relieve Cramps Due to Pregnancy Faster

How great to be pregnant! It's a time of joys and challenges. There are so many aches and pains, such discomfort. Though we are gaining weight, have muscle and joint pain, we are elated. What can we possibly do to alleviate this? I recently heard about pregnancy massage. What a luxury! During my pregnancies, I wish I had heard of this. In most circumstances, pregnancy massages can be a great relief and comfort.

All the normal feelings of stress and anxiety come to the forefront upon realization that there is now a new human being growing inside, and this child is a huge priority. There is joy and anticipation that goes along with these feelings. Often we can benefit from a pregnancy massage, just as we can benefit from a massage when not pregnant.

This can reduce so many negative symptoms of pregnancy, including stress, depression and anxiety. We just have to make sure that we have the appropriate pregnancy specialists, also known as pre-natal specialists. Proper positioning and special pillows are needed to support the growing baby during the massage. The specialist will know not to do any deep tissue massage.

Clothing is optional, some ladies prefer clothing (bra and underwear) others prefer towels or sheets for coverage. One important point is that the personal OB/GYN knows that you are considering pregnancy massage. These massages are good for when you are in labor, and are a great bonding experience for you and your husband. Massages when pregnant are not associated with miscarriages or any other complications. They are good for the mother and even after the baby is born, massages can often soothe a baby with colic.

When I think back to my own 3 pregnancies, if I had known about these massages, I would have made it a point to get some. My sciatic nerve caused me great pain with my first child. This was partially due to the immense weight gain I had. By my second pregnancy, I knew what to avoid in order to minimize weight gain, but I felt stress on my legs. As I got into my third pregnancy, I felt exhaustion, but didn't consider massages. Now I know that massages can help eliminate waste products from the mother through the lymphatic and circulatory system, thus giving the mother more energy

While there are so many joys and so much eager anticipation, pregnancy is by no means a comfortable time. A massage is a luxury in everyday life, but when pregnant, it should be a necessity! To know that my physical pain, stress and anxiety could have been alleviated by something so good for me is comforting. A calming, refreshing massage can even help with hormonal changes during pregnancy. If I am further blessed with another child, a pregnancy massage is definitely something I will be seeking.
